Evening on the Dee

We fished hard at Carlogie on the Dee this year with little reward - three fish for the week - but at least the weather was kind. This is Bryan fishing the boat pool. The damage left by the flood of New Year's Eve last was astonishing - great boulders shifted, banks washed away, huts that have disappeared and shingle remodelling the flow of the river. Some pools have gone, others have appeared. In a few years mosses and grasses will cover the existing scars and it'll be as if that's how it always was. But it's changed and future generations will know it differently.
