to Make a Job of It
I had hoped to be able to go through the beehives today and carry out a routine spring inspection of each colony. However the weather was just too cold. If beehives are opened in cooler weather one can end up doing more harm than good by chilling (and killing) the young larvae.
So with time to spare it was clearly the time to plant out some brassicas, particularly broccoli and cauliflowers. We have our fair share of pigeons, rabbits, slugs and cabbage root flies here and so precautions are necessary whilst the new plants get going.
I wonder if the defences will be up to the onslaught....
