Last Day Away

Nipped over to Ulverston after having stuffed ourselves on the breakfast served up in the hotel.
We parked under what has to be the highest situated lighthouse I have ever seen and nipped into the crystal factory to spend a few minutes watching the men blowing and working the glass.

Then it was over to colourful Kirkby Lonsdale - Yes, I do mean colourful.
Narrow, colourful streets surrounding a lovely Norman church with most unusual rising gate mechanism.
We were there to meet up with a friend who drove up from Blackpool to meet us for lunch. We had missed each other at the top of Kirkstone Pass by 15 minutes the day before not knowing that we were all in the area.

So, after a 2 hour lunch we said out goodbyes and headed off in opposite directions for home.
