Kentucky Derby Hats

Merrick's mom and dad dropped him off so they could go to a Kentucky Derby party...and, the hats were on.

As far as I can see from watching it on TV, the derby is known for 3 things. 1. The fast and beautiful horses. 2. People drinking mint juleps. 3. The women in the crowd, dressed to the 9's...in their fancy dresses and their hats.

After seeing my daughters hat, I decided if she DIDN'T win, there should NEVER be another Kentucky Derby party.

UPDATE: The race is over. Nyquist, the favorite...won the race, and...and...and...MY DAUGHTER WON THE HAT CONTEST!!! As an added bonus, my son won the men's division. (I didn't see his hat entry.)

They say the race is the best two minutes in sports. I don't if I would agree with that, but they are beautiful animals.
