Bluebells
The weather forecast was looking good for today.
Grocery shopping was quickly done and we headed the 10 miles or so South to the village of Southend for a walk along Dunaverty Bay heading out to the old lifeboat station there, which sits in the shadow of a rocky outcrop which has been a fortified site from as early as AD500 when it was an important hill fort for the Kings of Dalriada.
It was also the site of Dunaverty Castle which was the scene of a massacre of 300 MacDonalds in 1647.
After our walk here we headed round to St Columba's chapel at Keil.
passing this ruined little shieling set against the backdrop of the bluebell's.
My extra shots show St Columba's footprint and St Columba's well especially for Freespiral.
