Lewis and Clark day on the Columbia River.

Spent the day exploring their expedition to cross America at the direction of President Jefferson between 1804 and 1806. They reached the mouth of the Columbia River and the Pacific after 18 months from St Louis travelling by boat, foot and horse. The Corps of Discovery only numbered 32 men and one woman - a Shoshone who was the wife of one of the men. L and C were southern gentlemen and their leadership was outstanding. They then travelled back again to spread the news. What tough nuts.
