Good intentions

It was supposed to be a work meeting and, at the end of the day, at least I did manage to introduce Kerry and Simon, which was the main point of us getting together. And, conceivably, we would have got more actual work done if we hadn't started drinking straight away but, hey ho... And, anyway, I happen to believe that team building is important.

The meeting really did come to a close, though, when Max, the Minx, and Hannah joined us for what ended up being a splendid evening of food and wine, and beer, and gin and tonic.*

And it was made all the better when it became apparent that Sadiq Khan had won the mayoral race in London. As a Londoner - even if it's only a sporadic one, these days - I've been embarrassed by having Boris Johnson as mayor. But now it's all turned on a sixpence and we have a leader we can be proud of, someone who accurately represents London's true spirit. That's worth celebrating.

God, I hope he and Corbyn can work together.

*Now there's an argument for the Oxford comma :-)
