Canada Geese family on the canal in Rishton.
The weather is mixed again, with some sunshine and a brisk cold breeze.
It is blowing the pink and white blossom from some of the trees.
I enjoyed a canal walk, and came across the family of Canada Geese and their five splendid goslings. The parents are very protective and one of them hissed at me, so I did not stay near them for too long.
The swan is still sitting on her nest, further up the canal and has been there for about two weeks.
The man who runs the café beside the bridge reckoned it could be four weeks more before the cygnets are born.
The male swan does a good job patrolling the stretch of canal near the nest, and he seems to make a sport out of flapping his huge wings near the Canada Geese if they go near the nest.
