Old chestnuts

Peer marking in the morning, ramp modelling in the afternoon. It was a glorious sunny day, as far as I could tell from indoors.

On my way back from lunch I chose the scenic route (across the park rather than the car park) and was reminded how many fine old trees there are on Nottingham University's campus. These splendidly gnarled old pals are sweet chestnuts, Castanea sativa.
