Migrant in Moscow

Armenia

I flew down to Yerevan this morning.  A busy day but was able to walk out this evening to capture the magnificent Cathedral of St Gregory the Illuminator.  Interestingly, it was built only in 2001 and funded by private donations.  It seats 1700 and commemorates 1700 years of Christianity in Armenia.  The said Gregory is patron saint of the Armenian Apostolic Church and is credited with converting Armenia from paganism to Christianity in 301 - in that way, Armenia became the first nation to adopt Christianity as an official religion.

A couple of extras taken on the way in today.  It was interesting to see the billboards on the 1915 genocide. An issue that's a long way off being resolved.
