Happy 90th Birthday!

Our next door neighbour, John, today celebrated his 90th birthday and here he is with his family who had travelled from Holand and Germany to be with him.

He is very independent, lives alone, drives a car, and goes to weekly jazz concerts. Oh yes he walks every day for at least half an hour.

How does he keep in touch with all his family? Well, Skype of course.

Yesterday the weekly fish van, which always stops outside his house was late , so John popped back in and brought out a chair for a visitor to the area, a Swiss woman, to sit on while she waited.
She is only in her 60s so  she was amazed to learn today that John is 90!

Oh yes he took great pride in telling me this morning that he had made up all the beds for the family himself- and carried their luggage in too.
