Down By the River - Roy Buchanan
A busy morning at work today after not nearly enough sleep last night. Fortunately only two of my florists showed up as they had all been out at a Karaoke night last nigt and the two that did show up were so hungover they left at ten am to work on their corporate ID at home.
Todays song is a cover of a Neil Young track. I have Neil's version too and I'm a little disappointed that it was the cover rather than the original which came up. It is a great cover, nut I love Neil Young, so hopefully I'll get the chance to do a shot for another of his songs before the month is up.
Roy Buchanan was a phenomenal guitarist. He's someone I wasn't really aware of until a friend bought me his anthology CD for my birthday just after I'd got my Telecaster. It's still the only album of his I have, but I'd recommend it as a great taster of his work to anyone. This track is one of my favourites from that album but his collaboration with Steve Cropper on Green Onions is great too.
Tourist has already posted some links to some of Roy's stuff, but here's todays track.
