Diary of an Edinburgher

Shopping

An unintended sleep in this morning till 8.30! I had meant to get up early and go for send JR on a big dog walk. But Archie and I just went over the bridge. He loves running along it. The breakfast that we've always had there was rather disappointing - there was no wonderful fruit, granola, yoghurt and honey platter that we'd had had on previous occasions. But Archie was happy enough - he had his sausage, chopped up for him.

Northwards to the House of Bruar after breakfast. We all love that place, though going there after a big breakfast is a bit of a waste - their food is so enticing, but impossible to partake of with gusto.

JR and I took Archie up the Falls of Bruar walk (see extra). It's just lovely - all through woodland, with spectacular waterfalls and a thundering river. He was then happy to sit in the car with his special bone while the humans enjoyed the shop to varying degrees - Joanne and JR were ardent shoppers, while Murray, Archie and I spent a bit of time waiting for them. I certainly can't complain, though - JR (my personal shopper) came back with three items for me! All on sale, I might add.

Back home down the motorway - Archie snoozing happily on the back seat in his harness. We took turns sitting in the back with him, but next time we'll try it on his own. We're so pleased we might have cracked the car sickness! Wild plans for taking off with him in the car during the summer are being made...

We celebrated his vomit-less journey with a G&T in the back garden when we came back. We passed many milestones this weekend - but this was the best one!

PS Well done Andy!
