Wait!
Back home after our fab trip round the highways and byways of beautiful Perthshire. Nothing better. And no doggie sickness!! This bodes well for the now possible summer holiday trips in the car. Technically, they're not summer holidays any more, as JR is retiring, so will join me in permanent holiday mode.
Anne said she'd like to take Archie out today, but it was half arranged last week, and I think she forgot, or got busy. No worries, we popped to visit Uncle A instead, and then had a walk home through the Meadows.
We met this group of wee girls. Archie went up to them, because one was eating an apple. Funny how he can be toddler tolerant when an apple core is involved. He sat there and gave a paw to each of the girls when they asked him. He put up with them patting him and their high pitched chattering. Then he did his 'Wait' trick, and they were very impressed.
He procured a tennis ball from somewhere, but soon lost interest in it. He then found a particularly delicious patch of grass and rolled around for ages in it - I was too far ahead to walk back and stop him.
We bumped into Katie, a prospective dog borrower, who is coming to meet us tomorrow. She recognised Archie from his profile page on the website and introduced herself..
We also met Rufus and his mum, going out for their walk. Rufus's mum did not hear me calling, as she was engrossed in her audible book (though only in one ear), but Rufus did, and came rushing back on his very long lead to meet us. Archie and he tend to just ignore one another, but today the pair of them seemed quite pleased to see each other - for a moment or two...
We're all off on an outing together tomorrow to a dog friendly Gin Bar in town. Sounds fun!
