Winners

Alarm off at 3.45 to get away at 4.15 for the 7.30 flight from Edinburgh to Lisbon. Doesn't seem that long since we were there last! Had a bit of a problem on the flight as we were sitting in the very last row that doesn't have a window and I'm a bit claustrophobic so did t feel so good upshot being spent all flight in the crew seat at the back and then at the front. The crew were so caring and helpful can't fault them.

Hire car picked up a brand new VW Polo and drove the two hours down the road stopping off where we were last year in Milfontes for a coffee and a wander. Was glad didn't stay there as the whole of the street in the old town has been dug up and there is diggers and dust everywhere!!

Half hour further south took us to where we are staying in Odeceixe, in the countryside called Monte do Cardal, a beautiful place that is so peaceful you instantly feel chilled. There are trees round about and wild flowers growing in the fields all around. Saw loads of mum and dad storks flying around looking for food for their babies in the nests.

This was the scene in our restaurant tonight as it was announced that Benfica have won the league - big celebrations in Lisbon !!
