Shield bug, a harbinger of summer. I don't know its proper name  but I love its odd markings, even if it did sulkily refuse to raise its head to show its face. As so often, I have sharp-eyed Grace to thank for spotting it; the lucky girl got the perfect eyesight gene that refused to work for me.
