Farmland treasures

This morning N gave I and me a lift to meet P.  We were going to walk a section of the Macmillan Way in memory of I's wife who died six weeks ago.  I is walking 125 miles from Abbotsbury in Dorset to Barnstaple in Devon, some of it with friends and some of it he will be alone.  I was only going to walk a small section from Dorset into Somerset to our farm while the other two were going on to Stoke sub Hamdon today.  I is staying two nights with us.

P has just published a book about the unfortunate Captain Peirce and how his boat the Halsewell was wrecked off the Purbeck Coast near Winspit at the end of the 18C.  A fascinating read.

On reaching the farm we were delighted to watch the two hares gamboling on the track unaware we were watching them.

Oh yes, the grass snake is back slowly simmering in the heat on the top of the compost in the garden bin.
