Awake at 6; made soup and had sausage sandwiches before heading out with this bunch of reprobates to Loch Earn and a wee jaunt up Ben Vorlich.

13 months ago there was a failed attempt so this represented unfinished business. So we got Baz at the Balmoral, Nic from hers and then off up the M9 and A82 and shortly after nine in unexpected but glorious sunshine we trudged off up the Ardvolich Road towards our quarry.

As we passed others (including 4 MTBikers intent on getting their bikes up so they could slither down again) we hit the summit it under 2 hours.
Gorgeous views all around, and we lay in the sun for 15 minutes on the leeward side. Very pleasant.
Then the descent; and eventually we were back; just in time for lunch on the beach on the south shore of Loch Earn. Another lazy hour eating soup (leek, potato, spinach, courgette and a couple of chillis) before we reluctantly dragged our selves off to Callander for ice creams and then home.

A quiet evening ensued...
