Under threat

Apparently there is some sort of planning application out there to demolish this (listed) old cinema building on our street and replace it with residential flats. The application hasn't been properly lodged yet, and there isn't a lot of information available yet, but it would be a shame if this building was lost. Yes, new housing is important but there are other places that don't require demolition of an iconic old building. I don't hold out much hope that it will be saved.
