Glorious Morning
... and indeed it was glorious. A cloudless, deep-blue sky, warm, and with the gentlest of breezes.
The Morning Glories evidently also thought that it was a glorious morning, because they decided to show off in numbers today. Two weeks ago, we found our first solitary bloom. Today, we counted seven just in this little group.
On a hot and sunny day like this, the flowers keep their wonderful luminous colour just for few hours. I took the photograph before 10:30 this morning. One hour later, the colour had changed from the dark blue with a purple tinge to a uniform purple. Interestingly, the colour sensitivity of the camera reveals more of the purple than the eye perceives.
For the record, here is a closer image of a single bloom, which shows clearly the blue, but with a definite purple added in.
