St. Louis - Last Day
We were greeted by dreary skies this morning on our last day in St. Louis, kind of matched our mood because we had said our good byes to our daughter last night not to see her again until graduation in Scotland the first of September. We had almost the whole day to kill, so after tracking down breakfast we visited the Missouri History Museum (I have officially lost track of the number of museums we have visited during our short stay in St. Louis). Once again, we were impressed by the famous people who have lived and events that have occurred in this city. One of the most famous was the first solo, nonstop, transatlantic crossing by Charles Lindbergh in 1927. This replica of his historic plane hangs in the main gallery of the museum, which I think was a remnant of the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition/World's Fair which transformed this area of St. Louis and which we also learned about during our visit.
