Found this egg shell in the garden just now and a quick Google confirmed my hunch that we have baby wood pigeons in our midst.

Admin day today. I had two To Do lists, a PhD one and a domestic one. Managed to tick everything off on both, including arranging some more museum visits to assess skeletons. There will be many more of these during the next twelve months.

In other news, due to popular demand I've put the heating on this evening as the house was chilly. As they say, ne'er cast a clout till May be out.
