Carcassonne

Today we went to the beautiful walled town of Carcassonne! Unfortunately, we were unable to visit the castle because of a one day strike! Added to which, it dared to rain on us! We still had a great time walking the ramparts and visiting the basilica, as well as enjoying savoury crepes and Breton cider for lunch! 

Because we hadn't been able to visit the castle, an extra treat was put in place for us - a stop off at a vineyard, where we learned about wine production, as well as sampling some! A very enjoyable little extra - and the sun was shining by then! 

Thanks very much for everything for yesterday's blip! A different hotel tomorrow - hopefully with easy internet access.....
