is the red robin balanced on a tree limb

she was looking for food - after all the rain we've had - finding nice ripe worms would be no - problem i'm certain - but then i came on the scene - following her from ground to tree - when she realized i was stalking her - she turned that eye on me - gazing intently while i remained still - staring back at her through my camera lens - we remained that way for several moments - (to me it felt like minutes, mind you) - while i tried to quietly snap a couple of shots - hoping she was in focus

then sensing i meant no harm - she returned to her task - while i quietly backed away - thrilled to have encountered such a wonderful - specimen on a day the sun decided to return to shining - i knew it had made for...
