One fine morning...

and in the time it took me to have my morning run, the first bud on the oriental rose (lilium) bulbs I planted way back in March (the picture from March is of other plants I potted that day but it was on the same day) opened out. The plant has grown to about a metre high and is one of only five bulbs that I planted so my garden will be a quiet riot of colour for the coming weeks since each of the buds is at a different stage. The bud itself goes from green to a rosy tint on the outside before opening.

Isn't nature wonderful and thank you to the sun god for giving us two straight days of sunshine in Belgium after weeks of rain !
