Temple Guardian

These guardian lions represent royalty, strength, and courage. They were the personal symbol of the Khmer kings, also believed to be gods. Therefore they supposedly have the ability to ward off evil through both divine and royal protection. I want a couple but apparently they won't fit at the entrance to the terraced house I shall be moving into (humph!). 
 
We had an adventurous breakfast and ventured into the old town. Overstand is a lovely haven of excellent coffee and breakfast food.
