A Canal Outing
It seems like a long time since we went for a serious outing, with a picnic, so that is what we aimed for today. A brief stop at the garden centre where they had some kind of fair. This meant the presence of food trucks, so mum bought a pulled beef meal to replace our freeze-dried one. Not bad.
We went south along the smaller canal and parked near a system of locks. Sheep were grazing, the leaves were all shades of green imaginable, me and mum were completely alone. Wonderful. We found a picnic table and shared our meal. Beef! Yay!! A bit tricky because it had pickled onion on it that had to be removed.
After we finished, mum said Let's go to the top of the locks! And so we did. We were very surprised to see the canal boat steering towards us once we were up, obviously on its way down the locks! It was exciting to watch. Not every day. Lots of pictures were taken of me by the passengers on the boat. Me and mum were very happy with our outing.
