Once a week with a load of moonshine

Himself and me have decided that we will need another holiday to recover from this holiday!

Boy and himself were slightly groggy when we awoke this morning... well they had almost, between themselves, drunk Asheville dry.

After a glorious evening in the moonlight, watching the fireflies and listening to creatures in the undergrowth.... (we still have no idea what it was...), we woke packed our bags again and packed the car.  2 hours down the road we stopped at Cracker Barrel which was stowed with the Good American's who had just vacated Church.

We got a seat and had a small (two plates each) breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon.  Oh Nom.

So good it was, we didn't have to eat again until tonight.

The moon was rising slowly in the sky, big and orange, but by the time we had stopped safely it was glowing bright white.  But oh so gorgeous!

The restaurant was a giggle tonight, Dillon, our server, was as Southern as they come, and couldn't have spoke more quietly, or south if he tried.  We knew dinner wouldn't be fast, it wasn't slow, but it was great. They know how to cook a 12 oz filet here! Perfection.

Dillon then demonstrated his caring side, and brought forward a colleague who, being British, was always interested to meet "British accents".

She was beyond hysterical.  She was as Manchester as they come, but liberally sprinkled with a southern drawl.  Daddy was a American Airforce, and they had all moved over 8 years ago.  I couldn't help laugh.  Imagine the maddest Manchester accent with that deep down, southern drawl, I just giggled and giggled.   Poor gal.

Dillon was so happy with his introductions, he stood for a few minutes after she left, telling us something, to which we all nodded intently and then all looked at  each other trying to figure out what the heck he said.   I really struggle with the slow drawl, there is no rush about anyone here.   I can't believe the difference between New York, Washington and here.

We've just had the best couple of days with Boy - he's away back to work tomorrow, but we'll pop in and see him and then get him in the evening for eating (again).   Tomorrow.... Target and Walmart!  Our life is full of excitement!
