I could stay lost in this moment....
My Boy loves North Carolina and the people. SInce he arrived 6 years ago, he has lived in a variety of places, with a variety of people, played hard, traveled lots, and has settled into a working life amazingly well.
Doing for other people what someone did for us, in order to get him there, gives him an insight into the stress and effort required to get your international admission from one country into another country's education system. I was so proud listening to him tonight telling us about the work they do, I couldn't believe the countries he communicates with in order to get Students in.
In other news.
We missed breakfast this morning, we were lazy people, and stayed in bed with a Do no disturb sign up. ;-)
We drove to Walmart (across the road) (it's a big road), and we still got it wrong.
We spent money in Walmart :-) That's what it's there for.
We met Boy and B in Ninja for Lunch. B now understands completely why Boy is like how he is. He's just worse than us. :-)
Then we went for a nap, (i love my bed),
Then I went SWIMMING. Yes I bloody well did. There's a pool, and It seemed a waste. *See extras
Then we ran back to the Uni to collect Boy, and torment C... - Boy's colleague. I had a little gift for him and his baby gal - a heilan Moo Coo.
Then we went to a Down South Real, life Southern BBQ Restaurant. We had BBQ Chicken, BBQ Pulled pork, slaw and mash, or chips. Wow. This was not Outback, or Texas Steakhouse. This was real -time southern food. We could barely move afterward!
And then Boy took us on a guided tour of Mount Olive. we visited the places he has lived, the places he has partayed, the places he was very nearly in trouble in. We visited the new halls of residence, the baseball pitch, the soccer pitch, the new beach volleyball court, the old halls, the old dorms.
And then we stopped to enjoy the sunset.
And for the last two hours we have sat outside on the hotel veranda, watching the sky go from pink to red to black, enjoying the music, and drinking beers, and talking life, love and politics.
It's a shame he wasn't born in the USA, cause he has a lot of good ideas about the welfare state and education system. He'd make a great president...
But I believe he's gonna do great things!
Watch out World - He's comin' for ya.
