Howgill Fell
Another trip back to work in Aberdeen, its a long 7 hour journey every week but there are so many places on the way where I'd love to stop and explore. These are the Howgills in Yorkshire Dales, seen from the M6.
They look quite bleak and barren and Wainwright described them looking like a herd of sleeping elephants. In a few decades this will look a bit different, just a bit further on I saw a whole hillside covered in young saplings so at least some part of it will be forested again.
