On the eve

of his final day as a uniformed student at high school.

English Lit exam tomorrow, then Leavers Assembly - by 2pm, he will have finished and we can set fire to his school shoes because, frankly, that's the only safe way of really being rid of them (I fear that they might walk off of their own accord).

Maths exam today was OK he says.  First half of the questions were fine and then the second half were a bit "WTF" - it seems that Twitter was also full of similar assessments - See #edexcelmaths

He walked with me to get decaf coffee and have a chat tonight.  Didn't go out yesterday because I just couldn't muster the energy and neither could he.  Tonight, he sees an end in sight, albeit temporary (in the form of half term) but at least after half term, he can be at home revising between exams rather than in lessons where some staff haven't been accommodating in terms of letting revision happen for a different subject's exam that may be on that particular day.  I know he has found it frustrating, particularly as he has had such a well planned schedule for his revision that has been part of a 14 week plan.

We also discussed part time work and a variety of other things.  I do enjoy my time with him.  Very much.
