Cropston Reservoir on a May Evening
Periodic foot care in Ashby this morning. I was telling the podiatrist of how a cafe owner in Ingoldmells preferred dogs in his cafe over children because they were much better behaved. She pursed her lips and looked quite mealy mouthed.
Back home to check on camera and flash batteries charging. Packing the bag for a new citizen ceremony at Glenfield in the afternoon. Only 19 new citizens. It seemed like a quiet break. The superintendent registrar mentioned that the photographer had a superb voice when it came to singing the National Anthem. I shrunk in my chair and grinned sheepishly.
This time, I took a softbox to use with off camera flash rather than have the flash on top of the camera. The photos came out well, but another time, I'd like to take two softboxes so that the portrait of the Queen doesn't get blasted with light and shadows are reduced drastically.
When I came out, the sun was shining and the bank of cloud appeared to be retreating slowly to the northwest. This led to wonderful conditions at Cropston Reservoir with cloud on the far side, sun on the other, and a vaguely hazy feel to the air. The water was very calm. The Spring flowers looked wonderful in the sun.
