Dew Drenched Dandelion

High humidity so a wonderful misty morning. Woke at 6.30, grabbed the tripod and camera, shooed Basil off the bed and headed for Charnwood Forest, where you get amazing recessions and shots of sun glancing through mist in the trees.

As we proceeded, I could see the mist was over the hills rather than in the trees so on impulse, turned left off Deans Lane. We parked by the path up to Beacon Hill, but walked on a little way to where the view began. Which is when we discovered Felicity's Wood, a new plantation set up by the Woodland Trust in 1996 to extend the National Forest.

Paths are maintained and descend to Wood Brook at the base of the hill, although Baz and I didn't go that far. I'd abandoned camera bag and tripod at the top of the hill in long grass and didn't want to risk them being taken. I've made that sort of mistake before.

The grass was saturated with dew. This dandelion, lit up by the morning sun, was just asking to have its photo taken.

On the hill are several seats for reposing to take in the view. They all bear dedications to Mums and Dads who used to come and sit here and take in the scenery.
