War Shadows

Beautiful summery day ahead of Memorial Day commemorations. Today, soldiers spent the day putting american flags on each of the tombs (that's over 250,000 of them) at Arlington cemetery. And this weekend, the monuments (including this one, World War 2) will be jam-packed with veterans and onlookers, while half a million Rolling Thunder motorcyclists rumble through the streets. There's a solemnity to that particular weekend that is quite impressive.
