Woodland castle
A very strange feature of the woods at Ufton is the regular appearance of these wooden shelters. Every few weeks new structures like this appear. I've never seen anyone making them or using them. I think, because there are also occasionally fire-pits next to them, that people must camp here, but it's all a bit odd. Perhaps it's the little people - I keep thinking of Allingham's poem "The Fairies";
Up the airy mountain,
Down the rushy glen,
We daren’t go a-hunting
For fear of little men;
Wee folk, good folk,
Trooping all together;
Green jacket, red cap,
And white owl’s feather!
