Obsolete

This is our telephone, a mobile radio phone. Works perfectly, no trouble at all. The German Post, has,in all its wisdom, decided that the Frequency that it and millions of other similar phones operate on is needed for other devices, Pagers and such. So, as from the 1st January this phone is Illegal, using it can bring a fine of 1,600 Euros. The fact that phones operating on the illegal frequency can still be bought, and from Telecom shops is neither here nor there. We have now got to go and buy a new phone, cost about 75 Euros and dispose of this one. As it is electrical goods it can't go in the dustbin, but must be taken to the collection point for dangerous goods. How many do you think will end up in the dustbins? Why not put the Pagers on the new frequency? We are talking Bureaucracy here, no reason given, do as I tell you, Peasant.
