Aftermath of another rainy night
Down at the Sanctuary Ponds the ducks were having a ball on their new pond that used to be the grass where we had picnics. 90 mm of rain fell mainly between midnight and 2am and this morning many parts of Motueka were floating. The same places that flooded only a month ago were once again under water. We have now had 130mm (5.5 inches rain approx) this week.
I lay awake worrying because the water runs off the high school grounds into the back of our property. I finally got up and looked and all seemed fine so back to sleep I went. Little did I know that the water rushed through later taking items, like shoes and pumpkins, from the back patio area right across the road and up the neighbours drive. Now that's a first.
Trev has a birthday today. We went to a very English tea rooms and had coffees, teas, scones and cakes. All the lovely china and cutlery, tablecloths and napkins but in what was once an old Methodist Sunday School. Nice to be "posh" every now and again.
