Hollyhock

This and many other Hollyhocks are self-sown and growing in much neglected ground. It is full of rubble and lots of stones. It is never weeded or mulched - it's just left alone. Yet these hollyhocks seem to thrive. I just love the papery nature of their petals and each year they seem to give us a different colour palate.
