Red-capped plover

I'll back blip my image for tomorrow later, but I wanted to get this one up straight away.  It's a crap photo, but I've never seen a red-capped plover before (they are common), and thus is another lifer for me.  I really shall have to write out this list one of these days before I forget them all.

So, we were at Green Lake in Western Victoria not far from Horsham, really low water level, gazillions of birds, large and small.

And what did we do??  We left the long lenses at home.  I was nearly in tears.  So frustrating. 

The extra is a stilt; we've seen lots of these at Goolwa but I love their long-legged elegance.
