This little nuthatch at the Middleton Hall Lakes RSPB reserve is quite undaunted by humans. He knows they leave him seed and mealworms and there are even stories about him (or others of his family) eating from the hands of visitors.
I had a super walk - it wasn't too busy even though it was Bank Holiday. It was not sunny enough or warm enough for the usual crop of butterflies. But I watched the lapwings, and the mayhem on the islands. And I was rather pleased with my arty sedge warbler shot (extra)
