In the rain

On our way to Guildford, we stopped off at Box Hill, but any thoughts of taking a walk were soon shelved because of the rain. This is Salomons Memorial, dedicated in 1920 to Leopold Salomons, who gave 230 acres of land at Box Tree to the National Trust. Apparently this is a famous viewpoint, visited by nearly a million people a year. There was no one else there today . . . and neither were there any views. They have good flapjacks in the café though!
