Bluebell Woods at Brunt
My friend, Eric and I headed for the Bluebell Woods at Brunt today. The bluebells are now in full bloom, so much so that it was difficult to isolate clusters. I made the mistake of relying too heavily on a very narrow depth of field which is fine if the area of focus is to the front of the image but not so good if the foreground is full of out of focus bluebells. This little group was effective as the were all in a horizontal band and there was a decent gap before the other bluebells in background came into shot which meant they were nicely diffused. It was a sunny days with patches of cloud so the dappled sunbeams came and went a lot. Although the woodland looks spectacular in the dappled light the contrast levels are really too great for the camera too cope and there was too much wind movement in the flowers for HDR to be an option
