The Copper Country l.

This beaver pond is behind the homestead and is a favorite
place for dogs to swim.  They come out, muddy, rank,
and more then happy to shake themselves off next to any
cringing human.  It is nearly impossible to escape their
stinky showers so we just cringe and moan.

For many years this was a "working'' beaver habitat, but
the beaver were removed because they kept flooding the
road.  It was a sad time for many of us. Their removal was
a sad happening for us.
