Firth of Forth

Today's the day ............................. to build bridges

Went by train today up to Inverness via Edinburgh and so that meant we went across the Forth Railway Bridge - always a great place to be.

This is a picture taken as we rushed over - looking across at the present road bridge with its elegant towers and suspended wires, with the new bridge behind.  I can't believe how quickly this new bridge has appeared.  It is now attached to the Fife side and if it carries on, it will open on time - and below budget - by the end of the year.

These two achievements are not something often associated with large-scale building projects .................
