The old and the new

London is an interesting city, with its old churches and towers right up against the new and the modern. Our day was like that too. We went on a boat ride down the Thames ending at the Tower of London. Spent some time seeing the towers and the Crown Jewels, the Ravens and the Beefeaters. But I needed a modern fix, so we made our way to the Tate Modern, where we enjoyed one of Degas ballerinas, water lilies by Monet, and some work by British artists I was unfamiliar with and really enjoyed. Tonight is our farewell dinner for this tour, then on to Edinburgh tomorrow.
