2016 Monday -- Grading Marathon

This post today could probably be called the "Finish Line." This is the last project this semester that I will grade for most of my students. So this is the last opportunity to write a comment of encouragement.

Writing a message of encouragement for the good students is fairly easy, for others, I really have to think a moment because encouragement is more difficult when a student has wasted his or her opportunity to produce a quality project. On those papers I have to fight the urge to be sarcastic, negative, or rude. I remind myself that the students are young, they are ignorant of education's value, and often they are immature. I have to be careful not to join in with their immaturity by allowing my anger to take center stage. So this photo is of one of my better student's papers.

Commencement is Thursday evening, June 9th. Later that night I will cross the threshold of summer. Excitement is increasing -- I love summer!
