ol' blue skies
Just can't get enough of blue skies at the moment (sorry everyone not from this wet island, you must think we're crazy!).
This morning I went up to the butterfly reserve on Morn Hill. I used to walk here - well, years ago, I suppose you'd say - when it first started, and apart from the fact it overlooks a deep valley I always thought it was rather a boring piece of land. But since I last came it's been loved and looked after and is now an amazingly rich and beautiful wildflower hillside. I counted at least 20 flowers currently out that I knew and there were many more grasses and plants I didn't. I also saw butterflies and moths, of course, though nothing I haven't also seen elsewhere this year. And I noticed they are cutting the rape crop I blipped from the other side of the valley back in April.
Anyway, this is scabious - I purposely didn't get in too close as I wanted to retain the sense of the big skies and rolling hills behind - it almost felt like prairie.
Busy day ahead with lots of stuff and a nice supper with a friend tonight at the ever gorgeous Corner House. Enjoy your day, lovely peeps..
