Spare a Thought for Poor Porky

Wonders will never cease: the Meadows Festival has kicked off in sunshine, and it looks as though it might make it through the two day event without any rain.

The stall holders started arriving at 7 am and shortly after 10 am the punters came, lured by the good weather, to stroll round the periphery of the Meadows eating hot dogs and licking ice creams as they examined the stalls full of other people's cast offs.

It was all mostly car boot sale type goods although there were stalls advertising worthy causes, and all the while the music stage bands were giving it laldie, belting out noise to every one whether they wanted to hear it or not.
The hundred yards, windows and walls between the Dower House and the music tent somewhat dulls the cacophony, but the thump is still heard. It's no wonder drums were the preferred means of communication in in olden times.
Our neighbours in the building next door have decamped to Inverness for the weekend to avoid the noise.

This is the pork stall situated with its back to the Dower House on the other side of the railings. As I write I can see steam billowing forth with gusto . The bacon and the mixture cooking in the wok actually looked quite tasty when I passed, although I wasn't tempted.
