another birthday, another beach

Today it's my birthday. Somehow, I had managed to book the car into the garage to have a new timing belt, which takes all day. So I had to think of something memorable to do while I waited. Reader, I went to Maryport. It's the nearest seaside to Dumfries with a train station and I had never been there before. I had a lovely time. Visited the aquarium and stroked the rays. Walked to the lighthouse and the beach. Will return another day and go to the Roman Museum.
Now in Carlisle having a very late lunch before I pick up the car. Then it's home to see my family.
