Route 75

The UK National Cycle Routes cover 13.400 miles of mainly traffic free routes across the country. Number 75 begins in Leith and passes Edinburgh, Glasgow to Gourock across to Dunoon and ends at Portavadie. This part uses the old drovers road from the Water of Leith walkway at Balerno, down to Almonddell and onto the Union Canal then to Falkirk and the Wheel and over to the Clyde.
I wish there had been this kind of facility when I was young cycling to the Scottish Youth Hostels on the main roads throughout the fifties !
